Dr. Shahana Alibhai
Description:
Breast health is something most of us know we should pay attention to, yet many feel uncertain about what truly matters, what is myth versus fact, and how to advocate for ourselves with confidence. This session creates a safe, practical, and empowering space to talk openly about breast health without fear, shame, or overwhelm.
Grounded in current guidelines and clinical experience, this talk will address common myths and misconceptions about breast health, screening, breast pain, lumps, and risk factors, helping participants understand what is normal, what deserves attention, and when to seek care. We will review evidence-based screening recommendations, explain why guidelines sometimes change, and discuss how personal and family history fit into decision-making.
This is not about creating anxiety. It is about replacing uncertainty with clarity, myths with knowledge, and silence with informed, compassionate conversation.
Participants will leave with:

Dr. Varisha Parikh
Description:
This lecture is designed to empower implant dentists with the knowledge and tools to manage and service complexities related to implant restorations. Although we like to consider our implant restorations to be infallible, there are actually many points in the biomechanical system of an implant prosthesis at which failure can occur. Restorative complications can present themselves in simple single unit implant restorations to more complex full arch situations. This course will cover diagnosis and assessment of complications at each level of the implant complex - fixture, screw, abutment, crown.

Session Details
Dr. Natalia Chalmers
Description:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is shifting from an optional add-on to a core element of dental practice. This session explores five dimensions of AI adoption: evidence, regulation and policy, education, efficiency, and patient-centered care. It unpacks the meaning of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for dental AI companies, which must meet rigorous performance and risk-assessment criteria, demonstrate clinical validation, secure pre-market approval, and adhere to continuous post-market surveillance. The session also shows how AI-generated population data can reveal previously invisible patterns in oral health disease burden and scores, as well as disease progression. AI is already being integrated into dental curricula to enhance procedural accuracy and personalized feedback, calibrating students for technology-enabled practice. Early academic adopters report measurable efficiency gains—consistent diagnostics, streamlined documentation, and improved case acceptance through visual communication. At its core, AI supports a more patient-centered approach. Color-coded overlays transform radiographs into images that parents can understand, strengthening provider-patient trust. AI-enabled oral health scores can further empower families with actionable prevention insights and transparent records that build trust. By engaging with these tools now, dentists can position their practices for sustainable success in an AI-enabled dental landscape.
